راديو الاتصال الأرضي (تترا) هو مواصفات راديو متحرك ذو اتصال رقمي تم تطويره ليلبي حاجات المنظمات التي تستخدم الراديو المتحرك الاحترافي (PMR) مثل:
شبكات السلامة العمومية، النقل، المرافق، الحكومة، الجيش والقوات المسلحة، الهيئة العامة لسجل القوى العاملة، الهيئات التجارية والصناعية، ومنظمات النفط والغاز.
تم تطوير مواصفات تترا بشكل خاص لتلبية حاجات منظمات مستخدمة للراديو المتحرك الاحترافي التقليدي. هذا يعني أن له بنية قابلة للقياس تتيح استغلال الشبكة بشكل اقتصادي بحيث يمتد من تغطية محلية واحدة إلى تغطية منطقة دولية واسعة متعددة.
بعض المزايا الفريدة لخدمات الراديو المتحرك الاحترافي لتترا هي:
- إعداد اتصال سريع لمكالمات جماعية في منطقة واسعة “كامل الشبكة المعرفة”.
- تشغيل النمط المباشر يسمح باتصال “متسلسل” بين نهايات الراديو المستقلة عن الشبكة.
- مستوى عالي من ترميز الصوت ليلبي حاجات السرية لمنظمات السلامة العامة.
- مكالمات الطوارئ التي تتم حتى وإن كان النظام مشغولاً.
